Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between wellness counseling and therapy?
Therapy is a long-term process that focuses on mild to severe psychological problems and seeks to uncover and modify the root causes of an individual’s problems. If you are struggling with your day-to-day, have addictions, or have trauma then therapy is recommended. Wellness counseling is designed to enhance the life of healthy individuals.
What can I expect at counseling sessions?
After we’ve made sure we’re a good fit to get you where you want to be, the wellness counseling appointment will be a 50-minute Zoom meeting. 45 minutes of the session will be wellness counseling and the last 5 minutes will be the wrap-up. We will start by assessing where you are and what success looks like to you and in what area. Next, we will focus on the road map to get where you want to go. From there we will develop new habits that will enhance your life. With those in place, we will create lasting change to hit your goals.
What do I need to be prepared for a counseling session?
Intention and commitment. Counseling only works when the person is ready to make an intentional change to start living a wellness-based lifestyle. The changes don’t have to be all at once. Please plan on focusing on one area at a time.
Do you take insurance?
No, my practice does not. Typically, wellness counselors do not take insurance, therapists do.
What are your rates?
I offer flexible pricing options to accommodate various needs and financial situations. My standard session rate is $150. However, I understand that not everyone may be able to afford this, so I also offer a sliding scale fee structure. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss pricing options that work best for you. Your well-being is my priority, and I am committed to making my services accessible. A payment must be completed before another appointment is made. I use PayPal Business as it’s safe and easy to use and takes all major credit cards and debit cards.
How often do we meet?
That depends on you and what your needs are. Some people prefer weekly and some bi-weekly or monthly. You can also reach out on an as-needed basis. Just email me at [email protected] to set up an appointment or book an appointment here.
